For the past few weeks our literacy focus has been around poems. We have had to make 10 poems about anything and it can be any type of poem. My favourite type of poem is triplet poems even though I am not very good at them. Here is a Bio Poem I made about Elon Musk.

Garden To Table

For the past few weeks I have been taking part in the garden to table group. We have been doing many different things. I have planted seeds and put plants from smaller pots into bigger pots. Recently I have been cutting wood so we can make planter boxes.  Before I started sawing wood more often I thought I was not good at it but I am. We have also had to move a wooden bench to another spot so we can have more planter boxes. We have cooked lots of food as well. We have made noodles and bok choy, macaroni bites and peach crumble.

Hatchet Response

So far in Hatchet Brian has build a shelter under a rock overhang. He has looked around the area where
he is living for food and he has drunk water from the lake. He found some berries and ate them but later
that night he threw up and had diarrhoea. He stayed outside a bit then went back to sleep.

The next day he ate some more but less than the day before so he didn't get sick. He did not get sick so
he ate some more. He started to run low on them so he looked for some more berries. He decided to
keep the lake in his sight so he didn't get lost. He saw some berries so he sprinted faster than he ever
has before. He recognised these types of berries and they were raspberries. He grabbed as many as
he could hold. It felt like he had four pounds worth of them. When he was collecting them he turned
around and there was a massive bear standing on it's back legs staring away from. Brian was in shock
so he stood still then ran the other way. He ran back to his cave and ate many of the berries  then went
to sleep.

He woke up to a strange rustling sound. He grabbed his hatchet and threw it that way. The animal came
towards him and stabbed him. He felt severe pain and his leg went numb. He looked at what was in his
leg and there were little needles. He noticed it must have been a porcupine. He pulled them out one by
one with sharp pain going through his leg. He tried to sleep that night but it was hard.

He woke up and noticed that his hatchet had made a little groove in the rocks in his cave when he tried
to throw it at the porcupine. So he threw his hatchet at the cave wall again to try and get sparks. He got
some small ones but they went out quickly. He went outside and got some wood. He threw the hatchet
at the wall and sparks came but they went out. He went outside to get some more wood but this time he
cut it up so it's soft and fluffy and could catch the sparks. He threw the hatchet with all his might and big
sparks and fire. He added more wood to keep it big.

Technology Term 2

This term at Technology I have been in the Mechatronics and Fabrics classes. In Mechatronics we have been learning how to code robots to move and turn. We practised using the Lego Mindstorms App. For last week and today we had to make our robot manoeuvre around obstacles. If they hit the obstacles we would have to restart and change our code. After that we had to make our own maze for the robot to manoeuvre around but I did not finish that.

After break I had Fabrics. In Fabrics we are making a bag. We are making them have a phrase like stop using plastic. My one says recycle don´t waste on it. Today I got my fabric so I can put my phrase on it. I put the recycling symbol on mine and the words. We used stencils for each letter and we put our fabric on top of the recycling symbol and traced around it. Next week we will colour in the symbol and words.

Comparing Fractions

Today in maths we did a fifty question maths worksheet. It was a bit hard but not too hard. I did get confused at times but I got through it. We only marked thirty questions today and I got all of them right. On the worksheet we needed to compare if a fraction was smaller, bigger or equal to another fraction. If the denominator is different we need to multiply them so they turn into the same number. When you multiply the bottom you need to multiply the numerator as well.
